Let’s talk about mental health. May is mental health awareness month and today I want to share a few ways I take care of my mental health.
How I’m Taking Care of My Mental Health
- Talk to a trusted friend, counselor or therapist.
- Go for a walk. Include walks around your neighborhood in your daily regimen.
- Wear pops of color. Trust me with this. Nothing brightens your day like yellow tops or pants. Be sure to wear green in support of mental health awareness month.
- Practice self care. Even if that means calling off sick or simply painting your nails.
- Take vitamins or supplements. I’ve been taking Magnesium for years and their are also tinctures you can take but I use them as a last resort.
- Do journaling. I picked up a few new journals last week including Tabitha Brown. It’s good to get your thoughts and feelings out and anyone can do this.
- Last but definitely not least, pray. Prayer is how this girl stays sane. For real!
Let’s help end the stigma around mental health. Encourage someone you know to take action for their mental health.
