Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to show that special someone how much you care. If you’re looking for a unique way to celebrate your love this year, I’ve got black owned date night ideas for Valentine’s Day and any day of the year.
Okay, we all know it’s cold as heck in Minnesota during the month of February. You may not know it but there are plenty of date night ideas that are owned by Black businesses. From jazzy restaurants to unique activities, these ideas will help you find the perfect way to celebrate your love on Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re looking for a vegan dinner or a fun activity, these Black-owned businesses have something special in store for you and your boo.
The Get Down Coffee Co
Start your morning off with a groovy cup of Joe at The Get Down Coffee Co nestled on the corner in the Camden neighborhood in North Minneapolis. It’s the perfect space for a coffee date. I’ve been here and it is a fun way to get your day started.
The Breakfast Klub
Continue the breakfast themed Valentine’s Day at The Breakfast Bar a southern style breakfast eatery in downtown Minneapolis. It’s another black owned spot that would be a tasty way to celebrate your loved one.
Soul Bowl
Head over to the trendy North Loop neighborhood for a taste of Soul Bowl (inside Graze Provisions food hall) for a delicious, modern take on soul and Jamaican foods. Or get soul food to go at their Richfield location. This happens to be one of my favorite places to eat!
Soul to Soul Smokehouse
If you want a more casual date night, swing by Soul to Soul Smokehouse inside the Midtown Global Market for another delicious soul food spot in the Twin Cities. Every time we visit the Global Market this is definitely one of our first stops.
Trio Plant Based
Meat not your thing? No worries. If you are looking for vegan dinner ideas, head over to Trio Plant Based where you can dine on 100% plant based soul food and other American vegan dishes.
Here’s to a lovely V-Day experience while also supporting the Black community. Wherever you decide to go, it’s sure to be delicious and memorable!
