I think we all knew that a Tracee Ellis Ross hair line was coming one day. She has the most beautiful naturally curly hair and if anyone was going to launch a celebrity haircare line it should be her right?
I was gifted samples of Pattern Beauty and wanted to give you all the deets on how this new line of curly products works on my 3C hair.
About Pattern Beauty by Tracee Ellis Ross
Tracy Ellis Ross's goal with Pattern Beauty is for you to have juicy, joyful hair. It's all about embracing your naturally curly hair. She has worked with her team of scientists and others to create a haircare brand that women with textured hair would love to use. Pattern beauty products are cruelty-free and when you purchase Pattern products from Ulta Beauty, proceeds go towards helping support organizations and programs that empower women and people of color.
I personally love the natural hair mantras that Tracy Ellis Ross uses in the vision for a Pattern Beauty.
May we know our hair is strong.
May we know our curls are flexible.
Maybe no our texture is resilient.
May we know our patterns are magic.
May our hair live its best life.
Pattern Beauty Products I'm Currently Trying
Here is a list of the hair care products from Tracee Ellis Ross I received.
Pattern Hydration Shampoo - for curls, coils, and tight textures $20
Pattern Leave-in Conditioner - for curls, coils, and tight textures
Pattern Microfiber Towel - for drying your hair without frizz $19
Pattern On the Go Kit - comes with Pattern shampoo, heavy conditioner, leave-in conditioner $24
Pattern Shower Brush - for combing the Heavy Conditioner through your wet strands $17
When I first tried Pattern by Tracy Ellis Ross the first thing is I noticed the scent. Pattern by Tracy Ellis Ross has a unique perfume type of scent that isn't overwhelming but reminds me of a light amber type of perfume. I can't really put my finger on it but it's nice.
Pattern Shampoo is nice and doesn't strip my hair which is always a plus. The Pattern Heavy Conditioner is extremely thick. Almost too thick. I can see why you would want to use the shower brush with this conditioner so you can spread the conditioner on the hairs evenly. Pattern Medium Conditioner would have probably been a better choice for my hair texture.
Pattern Leave-in Conditioner has a nice slip to it which makes it easier to detangle hair. Because I did not get to try the Pattern Argan Oil I applied my regular curl moisturizer and hair gel that I use. What I noticed is at the end of the day when my hair was completely dry, my curls were way more defined than usual. Normally when I wash, condition, and detangle my hair it begins to air dry which leaves my naturally curly hair a bit poofy. My curls are usually not as defined on wash days but after using the Pattern line I noticed I had more defined curls.
The only thing missing from these curly hair care products is a curl moisturizer or curl pudding. I really like applying a curl moisturizer to my hair instead of hair serum or hair oil and I would've loved to see that in this line. Maybe it's in the works.
Okay now let's be real, Pattern by Tracy Ellis Ross is a more high-end natural hair care line and it may be a bit expensive. I would suggest purchasing the trial-sized On the Go Kit first to see if you want to make the investment.
So what do you think? Will you be trying the new hair care products by Tracy Ellis Ross?
I'm happy to see that her products are good. I would love to see how well it works for my hair. And yes, she needs to add a curl pudding in the collection.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Had no idea she had this cooking up. I want to try Pattern for my daughters hair. This is the types of curls texture they both have.
ReplyDeleteThese look so good. I gotta try it out to see if it works for my hair and my daughter.

ReplyDeleteI wanted to try her products but now I'm locing my hair. I can't shampoo it for a while. I wonder if her product work for locs.
ReplyDeleteI have to check them out. I haven't yet seen them in stores. Your hair does look good with the products.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about trying it. I don't really use much other than shea butter and jamaican black castor oil, so I have been thinking of trying some new products to see what I'm missing. Your hair looks really good!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been hearing great things about her products. Can’t wait to experience them for myself.
ReplyDeleteThis line has been making a lot of buzz lately! I think it's cool that there are different levels to the conditioner. I think a curl pudding would have been more enticing to buy as well
