1. Buy your Minnesota State Fair tickets in advance. Today is the last day to get your discount at state fair tickets at cub foods locations until 9 PM p.m.

2. Be sure to visit the fair on discount days like Thrifty Thursday. And these days you often find discounts on Midway and Kidway rides and concessions fair wine.

3. Sign up for free tickets from the Hennepin County Libraries. My kids have won free tickets to the fair many times but you have to sign up early in the summer.

4. Purchase a Blue Ribbon Bargain Book but look through it first to see if it makes sense to buy it.

5. Take the bus. This is a great way to save on parking which can be $20 Dash $25.

6. Share your food. I love nibbling on all my favorite fair food and the best way to do that is to share my food with everyone. We buy value sizes which are the best bang for our buck and share with each other.

7. If you don't like to spend money on food, you can bring your own food and water inside. But the food is the best part of the Minnesota State fair right? I do however always bring water bottles from home.

8. Pick up a Deals, Drawings & Giveaways free guide at any information booth. It lists all the discount days, free stuff, and one dollar items at the fair.

9. Take in a free show advantage of the free entertainment. There are a lot of free live music and shows including local acts like Dessa and national artists Tony! Toni! Toné!

10. And don't forget to check out the new Angry Birds universe the exhibition in the N. End Event Center. I'll be lots of activities to do that are free.
