As a busy mom of an official senior, I know what it is like to feel stressed! School is out for summer but now it's on. Time to get my son ready for his senior year of high school and there's so much to do.

Not to mention all my regular responsibilities of cooking, cleaning, errands, and everything else, it can be overwhelming! Thankfully, I have ways that I destress from all that the day brings my way. I'd like to share with you all the ways that I use to stress management to unwind from a stressful day.


How to Destress Your Day


Leave work at work

When you get home, make it a point to leave work at work. That means last minutes tasks for a project, work emails, or stress from the day. Remember you're at home now and it's time to relax and enjoy your family.

Unwind by Reading a Book

There's nothing like unwinding by reading a good book. Whether it's an inspirational book, a self-help or fictional read, your thoughts will be focused on what you are reading not what was troubling you. 


Take a Relaxing Bath

Another way to relax is by taking a nice long bath. Get your favorite bathrobe, add some bubble bath or bath bombs and some soothing music if that's your thing. If you are feeling tense, this will help relax your muscles and soothe your mind.

Go for a walk

This has to be my favorite way to relieve stress, hands down. If I've had an especially tough day, I'll head out for a walk to clear my mind. Even if I'm not feeling stressed, a walk gets my body moving and gives me a boost of endorphins that lighten any mood I'm in.
