May is skin cancer awareness month and it's the perfect time to reminder to take care of your skin. Today I'm sharing a few tips that will help you protect your skin this summer.
Don't Use Expired Sunscreen
Did you know that your sunscreen can spoil and go bad? I didn't but just like any other skin care product, you have to make you don't use expired sunscreen. If it's expired the SPF won't work properly and we all know that we don't want to play with that.
So how do you know if it's expired? Well, your sunscreen lotion will be watery inconsistency or clumpy in texture. Also if you store sunscreen products in your car, forget about it. It's done. If it stinks, we'll I hope you would know what to do with it. Experts recommend replacing your sunscreen lotions every year to be on the safe side. It's the best way to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
Try Bare Republic Skin Care Products
Bare Republic prides itself on using clean ingredients in their cruelty-free sunscreens. They combine antioxidant-rich oils, plant extracts, and non-nano mineral actives zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. You'll get wide broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and water resistant formulas. Bare Republic is biodegradable, reef friendly, and free of synthetic fragrances, petroleum, and parabens.
As a MomsMeet member, I often get to try out "better for you" products which I am always down for. I was sent a box full of beauty goodies from Bare Republic. I didn't have to blog about it but I thought a Bare Republic sunscreen review might be useful.
I received:
Bare Republic Mineral SPF 30 Sport Sunscreen Spray in Citrus Cooler
Bare Republic Mineral SPF 30 Face Lotion Sunscreen in Untinted
Bare Republic Holographic Shimmer Sunscreen Lotion in Diamond Dust
Bare Republic Mineral SPF 50 Sunscreen Stick in Holographic
Bare Republic Mineral SPF 50 Sunscreen Stick in Gold Shimmer
Bare Republic Sport Sunscreen Lotion
So How Do Bare Republic Sunscreens Smell
As soon as I put this up on Instagram, people started asking how to the Bare Republic sunscreen products smell. The first thing I tried was the Bare Republic Mineral SPF 30 Sport Sunscreen Spray in Citrus Cooler. I was surprised that it sprayed on thick and white which wasn't what I expected. The citrus scent was very light and the other sunscreen products had a scent that reminded me of makeup which I actually don't mind. I like lightly scented sunscreens because they don't attract bees and bugs.
Another thing to note is that these mineral sunscreens are very thick and white so you'll want to be sure to rub it in well. Also, when you apply the spray sunscreen lotion, be sure to do it in a well-ventilated area or better yet outside.
My favorite of all of the Bare Republic sunscreen products was the Diamond Dust mineral sunscreen lotion because of the holographic shimmer that made my skin sparkle. Bare Republic sunscreen can be purchased at most big box retailers as well as your local drugstore. Right now you can save 20% on Bare Republic mineral sunscreens by using the promo code MOMSMEET20 on gobareoutside.com. Offer ends Sept. 1st, 2019.
