How I use Witch Hazel in My Skincare Routine

Okay ladies, raise your hands if you use Witch Hazel to clean your face. Raises both hands*

I'm old school. I can remember being a young girl and my mom suggesting I use witch hazel as a toner to clean my acne-prone teenage skin. I'm older now and I still use witch hazel because it's mild and effective for keeping my skin clean.

The benefits of Witch Hazel

Witch Hazel is a plant which bark and leaves are made into a water. It can be used for skin irritations and inflammation. Witch Hazel is also a natural astringent that tightens skin. Did you know you can even help with hemorrhoids? I've never tried it for that but it's something to keep in mind.

I love using witch hazel in my skin care routine to help control occasional breakouts and keep my pores clean. I usually apply witch hazel to my face with a cotton ball after I have washed my face with a gentle cleanser. Then I'm sure to follow it up with a good moisturizer. Sometimes I use witch hazel to remove my eyebrow makeup and I'm super careful not to get it too close to my eyes.

Witch Hazel is great for oily, congested pores and helps to restore your skills balance and deep clean at the same time. My son has been dealing with bad breakouts so I decided to have him add the Biore Witch Hazel Pore Clarifying Toner since it has Salicylic Acid that is an acne treatment.

It's really affordable too. There are several brands out there but a store brand witch hazel works just as well. If you are looking for an astringent with pore cleansing properties, Witch Hazel would make a great addition to your morning skincare routine.

  1. I haven't tried this brand of Witch Hazel, however, it is something that is a part of my skincare routine. I alternate between that, Green alcohol, and Seabreeze.

  6. I use Witch Hazel on the regular, I didn’t use it as a kid. I was talking to my teen about his skin this morning. I will get him his own bottle (I’m not sharing) this might really help his skin. It’s not terrible which is good.

  8. I had no idea that Biore had Witch hazel products. All I ever knew about were the nose strips. I like witch hazel toner because it’s mild but still effective.

  9. I've actually been looking for a brand of witch hazel to use as a toner, but one that doesn't have a ton of additives. Might have to give Biore a try!

  10. I haven't tried it on my face before. That sounds like a plan, especially with my pores becoming so noticeable. I have some nose strips that my son tried. It is amazing how well they work. I can't wait to try them.
