Helping My Son Express Himself During Black History Month

Happy Black History Month everyone! Have you seen the new Black History collection at Target? I have to say, I kinda love it!

To celebrate Black History Month, Target rolled out an entire display of African American clothing that includes graphic tees with the names of African American heroes, along with jean and bomber style jackets with Africa on them. Target also has African style head wraps, Black History Target Beauty Boxes, accessories, and so much more. There really is something for everyone.

What's also cool to me is that these products were developed by actual Target team members. That's important because it feels more personal instead of corporate heads sitting around a table deciding what we might be interested in.

I fell in love with the African American t-shirts and sweatshirts that they have. Especially the floral hair t-shirt.

The adult collection is unisex so guys or girls can wear them.

You can also find the same black history t-shirts in kids, toddlers, and babies sizes as well.

Here's my son rocking his African sweatshirt. He looks pretty fresh if I say so myself! ;)

One thing I will say about the Target Black History collection is that it differs from store to store. The display itself could be bigger in my opinion. My local Target literally has an end cap as their display while another Target with more black customers had a larger display. Listen, black folks spend billions of dollars on fashion, hair care products, and more so it would be advantageous to have a better display.

Still, I do think that it's a start for Target. Hopefully, they can keep items like this in store on a regular basis. Bottom line? You really need to check this Target Black History collection out!

So what do you think about Target's Black History Collection? Yay or nay?
