Happy New Year everyone! Your girl has been doing absolutely nothing over Christmas break and it's been wonderful. I didn't have anywhere to go, no kids to transport, no running around to do, and it felt good.
Everyone in my house was on vacation, including my husband and it was fun having everyone hanging out at home. Now that school has started it's back to the grind.
Most people have been busy making and starting their New Year's resolutions, but not me. I like to make small goals for myself instead.
I didn't do a whole lot of reflecting on the last year neither because 2018 was not the greatest and I'm glad to be moving on. I am excited about a few prospects that the new year may bring though.
Instead of making resolutions I know I won't keep, I decided to choose three things that I want to work toward this year.
My 3 Easy Goals for the New Year
1. Work toward getting healthy. Mind, body, and spirit. I know this may sound cliche but hear me out. I don't have a desired weight or new diet that I want to try. Instead, I'm looking to incorporate more exercise in my lifestyle.

Exercise seems to be the cure-all for whatever is ailing you. Not only is it good for your general health and may help you lose weight but studies show that it helps mentally as well.
2. Read more. As a teen, my favorite past time was reading novels. Now that I'm older, I'd much rather read a self-help book or inspirational read. My problem is I seldom finish the book because I get so busy with life. This year my goal is to actually finish a few titles and so far, I'm doing good.
But I also plan to read up on things I want to learn more about like photography and marketing.
3. Pursue my old hobbies. I used to be so creative you guys. I made my own clothes and had a bath and body business once. I want to get the creative juices flowing again so I invested in a small sewing machine. I also plan to start whipping up a few batches of handmade soap too.
My new year's goals aren't complicated because I don't need that in my life. I hope to at least work toward these small changes and look forward to reaching them.

What goals are you working toward this year?
I am doing the read more myself. I need to get back to doing a once a month read. Maybe I should join a book club to keep me on task. Good luck on your goals
ReplyDeleteThanks lady. I think a book club is a great way to stay on track. I may try that.
DeleteI did the same thing during my vacation and I am so glad I did. My goals for 2019 are very similar to yours and I plan to incorporate my family into all of it. We can do it together.
ReplyDeleteYes to all 3. Can't wait to see what creative things you post! Exercise, like water is a magic elixir.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on letting go of the little irritants that bother me, drinking more water and eating on a more consistent schedule. I have a pretty healthy diet, but some days I'll look up and I haven't eaten anything by 1 pm.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these, especially pursuing old hobbies! I’m trying to get back into dancing, a passion of mine. Happy 2019!
ReplyDeleteI want to read more as well. It seems I never have time to just shit and read a book. I have taken to audio books, but it isn't the same.
ReplyDeleteSounds like some healthy realistic goals we all can achieve. I am actually having a goal to read more books this years and I mean physical books and I want to paint again!
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to read at least 5 books or listen to the audible ones. I use to read 52 books a year when I was younger
ReplyDeleteI love that you are going to read more. I have a goal of 4 books this year.
ReplyDeleteI seriously need to start reading more. I have made that my goal this year.
