Here's How You Can Help End Period Poverty

This post is sponsored by U by Kotex but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Periods can be a drag, I know. Especially when you look up and you find that you are out of sanitary products. Then you're making a mad dash to your local convenience store only to end up complaining because it was too expensive. Yeah, ask me how I know.

But what if you couldn't just go to the store? What if you didn't have the money to buy your sanitary needs at all?

Sadly, this is a real issue that women around the country face every day. Did you know that one in four women have don't have enough money to purchase period supplies? Let alone the homeless women who don't have access to the liners, pads, and tampons that they desperately. Not having the necessary sanitary products means that these women cannot participate in and enjoy everyday life.

Thankfully, the new organization the Alliance for Period Supplies is helping to put an end to period poverty.

The mission of the Alliance for Period Supplies is simple - to bring awareness of the millions of women who miss out on daily life because of inadequate period supplies. They also distribute period supplies and funding to community-based initiatives like a local, community-based food shelf. They also advocate for legislative changes to make period supplies more accessible and affordable for any woman with any sized income. Now that just makes sense, doesn't it!

Many of you may be wondering how can you help? Well, it's actually easy. Walmart has teamed up with the Alliance for Period Supplies and during the month of October, for every purchase of
U by Kotex product - U by Kotex will donate 2 products.

I'm saying yes to all of this and purchasing my U by Kotex! Will you be supporting this cause as well?

  2. Period supplies are so expensive. Basically anything you buy for your period is going into the trash. I get that it costs companies to make the product but seriously help girls in poverty or in jail. Thank you Kotex for stepping up and helping women.

  6. I had no idea there was such a gap. I have used the Kotex brand for many years. I will get some extra boxes this month so they can donate to others. I can’t imagine not having my feminine products.

  7. This is such an important cause. I volunteered to feed the homeless last year and I vividly remember the women and the discussion around their struggle when having their menstrual cycles.

    1. It's so real! I remember watching a documentary on what they had to use when they didn't have any. It was so sad.

  8. This cause is right up my alley. I grew up in poverty and I didn't like to tell my mom that I needed supplies because I knew she didn't have any money. I remember the real tears that use to flow.
