Summer Kimonos

I know school will be starting in a few days but I wanted to talk about my favorite summer trend, the kimono. Kimonos were all the rage this summer and I loved wearing them. There was something about the light flowy accessory that was feminine and light enough for a warm summer day.

I've always embraced kimonos because of the way they gently hide your flaws and trouble areas, For me, that is my tummy.

My favorite way to wear a kimono this summer was to wear it over a tank and jean shorts. Here I styled it with a raw hem denim skirt. The straw purse set the whole look. Thankfully I see kimonos lasting well through fall fashion season as I've seen long kimonos in thicker fabric in stores. I'm sure I'll be adding one to my fall wardrobe as soon as the weather turns cooler.

Welp, the first day of School is just a few days away and our summer break is coming to an end. I'm honestly not ready because there are so many things we didn't get to do yet. I still have one more weekend before school starts and I plan to make the most of it.

5 Back to School Essentials for Your Teen Guy

How to Enjoy the End of Summer

1. Schedule an end of summer outing with your family. We were able to take in a Minnesota Twins baseball game which was a lot of fun.

2. Try a new ice cream shop. Gourmet ice cream shops are popping up all around the Twin Cities and I plan to get a scoop asap.

3. Sit outside and just watch the kids play. There's something about watching the little ones run around outside while I lounge in a lawn chair that makes me appreciate the summer.

One thing is for sure, winter is coming. Gasp, I know! It's important that we cherish these last days of summer! Be sure to follow my Instagram stories to see the end of summer fun!
