It's time to take a look at the MN State Fair New Foods list! Every year I get so excited to attend one of the nations largest state fairs.
I was once again invited to attend a preview of the new foods at the MN State Fair and you know I couldn't turn it down. This will be my fourth or fifth time getting a sneak peek at all the yummy goodness.
While we didn't get to taste all the new fair foods (that would be amazing wouldn't it) we did get to sample 5 new items from the new foods list.
Minnesota State Fair New Foods 2018
Now lookee here. This here is the BBQ Split from Mama D's. It's made with a scoop of barbecue pulled pork, mac & cheese and coleslaw served with a pickle. You can find Mama D in the Taste of the Midtown Global Market Booth in the International Bazaar.
Sausage Sister and Me are debuting the Up North Puff Pastry made with porchetta sausage, cheese curds, coarse grain mustard and chopped dill pickle baked in a puffy crust sprinkle with pepper and sea salt. I was surprised by how flavorful this one taste.
The Hamline Church Dining Hall is serving up Bananas Foster French Toast and it is tasty y'all! Made with cinnamon swirl french toast topped with slices of fresh bananas in an orange rum-flavored caramel sauce topped with whipped cream. You can find this on the north side of Dan patch Avenue between Underwood and Cooper. One of my faves on the list.
Looking for a good cup of Joe at the Minnesota State Fair? I've heard people say that you can't find good coffee at the state fair but the Anchor Coffee House is here to change things up a bit. They offer cold brew coffee's including the Nitro Cold Brew Coffee featured pictured above with vanilla cream, caramel cream, and chocolate cream, as well as latte mocha is in chai tea. Find the Anchor Coffee House on the west side of Underwood Street between Carne's and Judson Avenue.
Sweetie Cakes has your choice between Black Forest Cake, Birthday Cake or Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake. You may think why would I go to the state fair and eat cake? Chile, let me tell you, you want some of this cake. It's baked with sassy pecan toffee bits served warm and topped with real whipped cream and more toffee bits. This is some of the best cake I've ever had. Definitely my favorite Minnesota State fair new food.
Which one is your favorite? What new fair foods are you excited to try at the MN State Fair?
