Honestly, summer fashion is hard for me because it's so hot outside. It's super humid here and on steamy summer days I could care less about being fashionable. Most days I throw on a tee shirt and shorts and call it a day. But I still like to get cute every now and then so I like to see what the summer fashion trends are and see what I can find.
Turns out, front tie tops are hot this summer. Just take a look at your Instagram feed and you'll see dresses, swimsuits, and crops tops tied in the front or tied in a knot of some sort. But a plus size mama like myself wants to be stylish but modest too so I'm looking for something appropriate for my shape and bust size.
Stripped Tie Front Top
I had the opportunity to borrow a top for a local photography workshop that I went to a few week ago from Style Trolley, a womens mobile boutique here in the Twin Cities. I chose to wear a low tie front shirt that gave me the coverage I really want. Everyone complimented me on how cute the top was.
What I like about this striped tie front top is that you can wear it in the fall as well. It's a summer knit shirt so it will transition well when the weather turns colder. You could simply add a jean jacket or leather moto jacket on cooler days. Summer to fall outfits are something every woman should have in her closet.
How did I do? I think these pictures from my photo-shoot turned out well. I'm sure I'll be adding a tie front top like this one to my wardrobe real soon!

Cute top!!! My goal has been to make more shirts this summer. So I can stop wearing tshirts all summer long. I'm currently making a tie-front shirt in a similar style as yours.

DeleteDuring the week I am in my workwear which is usually a dress. Weekends it usually depends on where I'm going. Most of the time it is shorts and a t-shirt or a maxi dress.

DeleteThe tie front is cute and youthful. I tend not to wear this style because I don't want anything poking out of my midsection (lol), but it looks very charming on you.
