Summer is here and I've been busy as ever taking care of the kids, helping out with my grandbabies, and trying to stay active this summer.
We've been having all sorts of fun walking at the lake, going to summer art fairs and food festivals and enjoying the summer sun.
Since I have begun to embrace eating more fruits and vegetables in my diet and making more meatless meals for my family, I've noticed that I may not be getting enough protein in my diet. Protein is super important for rebuilding muscle mass and it also helps to keep us satiated. So I decided to look into nutrition shakes to get my extra protein kick.
I am currently trying Ensure® Max Protein which is at 150 cal nutrition drink packed with 30 g of high-quality protein and only 1 gram of sugar. It's just what I need to help me with my health goals.
Seems like I'm always at Walmart these days so it made sense to pick up some Ensure® Max Protein while I was there.

Found it!
Ensure® Max Protein comes in two flavors. Café Mocha, which has 100 mg of caffeine from Columbian coffee extract - that equals one cup of coffee folks. But since I don't need the extra coffee buzz I'm trying the Chocolate one.
Actress Kate Walsh is an advocate for healthy lifestyle changes and happens to be a fan of Ensure® Max Protein nutritional shakes and drinks them to be sure she gets enough protein. Learn more about Kate Walsh's personal health journey here.

ReplyDeleteI had no idea Ensure made protein shakes now. I'm definitely going to pick up some and try them out.
ReplyDeleteIf you try it, tell me what you think of it.
DeleteI've been doing protein shakes after my workouts, but it was packed away during our packout so now it's sailing the Pacific ocean. We are visiting family and I need something quick and easy. Going to wal-mart tomorrow, so will go and check this one out.
ReplyDeleteMy son has been wanting to drink them with his workouts too.
DeleteIn my mind I think I am getting enough protein. I don’t know for sure. Sometimes I do very well with eating, other times I skip meals.
ReplyDeleteI am eating a lot less meat these days so it is important that I find other sources of protein. I remember drinking these when I was pregnant. I may have to revisit the idea!
ReplyDeleteI have not drank Ensure since I was pregnant with my kids but my doctor wants me to up my protein. I actually love Ensure so yep, I'll be picking up a pack of the Protein Max to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI have been mixing protein in my smoothies to get it in prior to leaving my home. But if I need something on the go or while traveling, this lools like a nice alternative. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI think I would like to try the Cafe Mocha because I am a big coffee drinker, especially mochas. I haven't tried protein shakes before, but my husband has. He used to take them with him to work for after he did PT when he was in the Army.
ReplyDeleteI could see myself drinking this right after a workout. I'm always looking for quick ways to re-fuel.
ReplyDeleteI'm really not a fan of shakes. I have yet to find one that tastes good to me. However, I'm thinking of trying this and maybe mixing a bit into my smoothie. If that doesn't work, my husband loves shakes.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about fitness, so this sounds like a great protein drink to try! I think I do get enough protein in my normal diet, but it's could to know these are an option!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great amount of protein. I would probably go with the milk chocolate one. I drink protein too, I prefer the whey based over the plant based.
ReplyDeleteI love Ensure and it's a very good drink to have during working out. As it puts protein back into your diet. I have never tried this one yet though.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to eat better this summer and beyond. I use to drink Ensures, but don't know why I stopped. My favorite flavor is vanilla.
