Spring has finally arrived! The temps have been warmer than usual and its beginning to feel more like summer. It's time to start thinking about my summer outfits, summer hairstyles, summer everything!

One summer look I'm excited to try is a fresh summer hair color. It's been a while since I colored my hair so I'm due for an update.

Coloring my hair is something I've always enjoyed doing at home and I love letting the world see my newest look. I always get lots of compliments when I have a fresh hair color.

I headed to Walmart to pick out a new summer shade from
Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color line.

I chose Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color in Ruby Noir because want to stay red. This time, I decided to try the Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color with K-BOND PLEX™. Its has salon inspired anti-breakage technology that repairs the inner hair structure for strong and healthy looking hair. I know I'll get a professional quality hair color at home that is easy to use and gives me color that lasts.

K-BOND PLEX™  also has a pre-color serum that conditions the hair before you dye it so there's less hair breakage. I especially like the intense color choices they offer. Plus, it has 100% grey coverage to get rid of those pesky grey hairs I'm beginning to see.

My hair is much darker than before. It's almost black but with a tint of red to it. It's shiny and feels soft, not stripped or dry.

Now it's time for me to play with a few new hairstyles for my freshly colored hair. I decided to make a pretty flower headband that will look great this spring and summer. Take a look below for directions on how to make one for yourself!

Style an Easy Summer Updo with a DIY Flower Headband

Directions:

1. Cut flowers at the base. Arrange flowers on the headband so you get a feel for where you need to glue them.

2. Next, apply glue to the back of the flower with the glue gun.

3. Then, press flower onto headband for a few seconds. Let it dry for several hours.

I can't wait to rock this fun summer updo!
