Light Foundation for Beginners

The new year is here and I'm ready to see all that it has in store. One of the things I'm looking forward to is trying new beauty products and seeing what new looks I can create with them.

I've been wanting to dabble in wearing a little more foundation this year. I usually only wear foundation for special occasions. But as I get older, I'm noticing skin aging and I desire coverage for dark spots and blemishes. BB Creams and tinted moisturizers are my go to for this type of thing but think I'm ready to try my hand at a light foundation. Nothing too heavy though because I don't like that cake face look.

I'm really a novice and my daughter (the make up guru) told me to blot on the foundation. I'm old school and used to applying it with my hands but I find that makeup sponges like this one make it easier to control how much foundation you put on. Hey girl, I'm learning.

I really love how much the flawless look of foundation makes my lipgloss pop!

The final results. I'm pleased with how I look and I hope to wear light foundation more this year.

How about you? Do you like wearing foundation?

  1. I’m currently loving the neutrogena wrinkle repair cream. It moisturizes my face and reduces fine lines. I love it! I like your soft make look. The foundation is right on. Great post, dear!

  2. I'm using the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Concealer and loving it! The lip shine does need a couple of coats to show up well, but it feels so good going on!

  7. I'm always looking for new products to try and it's definitely more affordable than the name brands at department stores. The lip color looks amazing against your skin!

  8. I'm probably one of the most beauty product illiterate people I know. Just recently I found out it's not a good idea to moisturize my face with lotion so I'm currently enjoying a new skin cream I was gifted.

  10. That's awesome that Neutrogena makes the perfect shade for your skin. I have found one of their foundations that work for me. I have more red undertones than they show in their selections.

  13. The foundation looks so flawless on you, as if you're not wearing makeup at all. I have used Neutrogena's facial washes, but not the foundation. I'll check them out.
