Listen, I'm married to the biggest Minnesota Vikings fan I know and year after year, I've seen hopes get dashed. So I protect my feelings by having no expectations at all for the football season. Sounds like a lot of relationships.
But somehow this year is different.
I have been fully aware of there winning record but have stayed fairly quiet. My son and husband have their usual Sunday commentary and I act like I know what I'm talking about or nod like I know what they're talking about.
What I know for sure is the Minnesota Vikings are long overdue for a win. We all rember the agony of defeat when punter Blair Walsh missed the field goal that costs us a ticket to the big game. Or the Saints fiasco that prevented us from going to the Super Bowl. *Puts hand on forehead*.
That's why last week's football game was so amazing. Down to the last 10 seconds. You know I had already given up hope.
But true Vikings fans don't give up so easily. Take a look.
This just doesn't happen for Minnesota. It's usually the other team that catches a break.
Every Minnesota household will be preparing for the big game this Sunday as we face the Philadelphia Eagles. We haven't been to the Super Bowl in decades and sure would love to see them go. Besides, never in history has a Super Bowl hosting state been featured in the game itself.
We're ready to bring it home! That would be a Minneapolis Miracle!
Are you a sports fan? Are you planning to watch the Super Bowl?
Honestly, I wish I would've watched the game but I was braiding hair. All I could here is my husband and best friend say OMG WOW. I finally seen the replay of the game. It was one hell of a game.
ReplyDeleteIt really was and I don't usually sit down and watch them.
DeleteI'm not a sports fan and only ever watch if I don't really have a choice. I honestly didn't even know football was still going on LOL!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I get it. This was an important game for us and that's why I watched it.
DeleteI know nearly nothing - okay absolutely nothing about sports but it does seem like this team pulled off something very close to a miracle!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great game and a lot of exciting moments. I didn't catch the first half of the game, but I did watch the second half and saw the Minneapolis Miracle.
ReplyDeleteI am a sports fan, especially football. I haven’t watched my NY Giants play all season. However I watch the Super Bowl every year.
ReplyDeleteI do plan to watch the super bowl this year. But I have to admit that each year I fall asleep. LOL!
ReplyDeleteDefinitley going to be a moment worth remembering forever!! I don’t even know half of what’s going on in the game but it was sure fun to experience such an amazing play!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your home team! Growing up Sunday football was sacred viewing to my dad, thank goodness we had more than one television. Now that I’m married and have two boys, we do watch, just not every Sunday & we always tune in for the Super Bowl, unless it falls on my birthday.
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a basketball fan, but watching football can me fun sometimes, as long as good food is involved! That being said, I plan on watching the football game at a Super Bowl party, aka, just going for the food and the halftime show!
ReplyDeleteThat game last week was insane. I'm a bit upset that MN did not beat the Eagles yesterday. I was really pulling for a Jaguars / Vikings game and now I don't even want to watch it.
