Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening celebration of the newly renovated Emagine Willow Creek theater in Plymouth. The festivities included a ribbon cutting celebration, a food reception and of course, our choice of a blockbuster movie. Proceeds of the night's event went directly to PACER Center.
I wasn't feeling my best that day and had planned on staying home. But the more I thought about it, I knew it would be a fun evening. So my husband and I put on the closest thing we had to "cocktail attire" and headed out the door.
Guests would enjoy an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and a gourmet popcorn station.
Oh, and did I mention that everything in the concessions stand was free? We felt like kids in a candy store!
That evening, we were one of the first to enjoy movie night in one of Willow Creek's 12 luxurious auditoriums. Each theater has leather power recliners and an immersive sound system that makes you feel like you are in the movie itself. I kept turning around because I felt like people in the movie were right next to me.
At 8pm, we made our way into the new luxurious movie theater. We decided to watch Kong: Skull Island since it hadn't released yet.
Kong: Skull Island Quick Review
Kong: Skull Island had a lot of action as to be expected. It was the classic King Kong story with a Jurassic Park-type of twist. But one thing I will say right now. It was gross y'all. I don't know if it was because we had stuffed our faces with food all night but that movie made my stomach turn a few times. The movie itself was okay. Pretty predictable.
I did enjoy seeing Cory Hawkins and Jason Mitchell, the actors from Straight Outta Compton. It showed that they have some diversity in their acting.
Anywho, we had a really good time and it turned out to be a pretty decent date night for the hubbs and I. Emagine Willow Creek theater is a must see. If you're not too far, I definitely suggest taking in a movie there. It was more fun than we could have emagined!

ReplyDeleteOh I love these type of theatres. They just opened one in our area.
ReplyDeleteI have a theater like this near me. I use to love it but found hair in my food and was turned completely off! Gross!
ReplyDeleteNow, that kind of movie is not for me.

We have a similar theater here that everyone raves about. I have been once but was a little picky about having to carry food myself so prefer to make the 30 minute trip to my favorite theater. Those reclining chairs look comfy, though.
