It's been a long time since I have had a girls night out. Seems like when I was a younger mom, I had more opportunities to get with my girlfriends and go out to dinner or catch a movie. But as the kids have gotten older, we have all grown more busier.

Desperate times call for desperate measures and I need time out with my girls. Asap! I'm also in need of fresh new look and giving myself a new hair color sounds perfect.

I headed to my local target to pick up a home coloring kit. Nothing too drastic. I opted for Schwarzkopf's Color Ultime to give me a brilliant, true to box color that will hide those pesky greys.

You can never go wrong with a classy shade of black. I chose the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime Magnificent Blacks in Raven Black, then headed home to dye my hair.

Tips for Getting Ready for a Girls Night Out

1. First things first, you have to find a super cute outfit that you love. Make sure it fits well and flatters your shape.  If you have a favorite color, wear that. Oh, and don't forget those shoes, girl!

2. After getting dressed, paint your nails. If you get dressed first, you won't have to worry about getting fingernail polish on your girl's night out outfit. Pick a nail polish in a bright or bold shade. Having your nails done makes you look more put together.

3. Style your hair to show off that new hair color you just got. I'm in ponytail type of girl and you'll often find me rocking one. But, sometimes when I want to feel pretty so I'll curl my bob instead.

The point is to do something different with your hair. Have naturally curly hair? Straighten it. Always wear your hair in a ponytail like mine? Curl your beautiful, freshly colored, tresses.

4. Last but not least, apply your favorite shade of lipstick. A night out with the girls calls for a pretty hue. Of course, I'm going to go with a bold fuchsia pink with a little lip gloss on top.

Looking fresh and feeling my best! Now I'm ready to par-Tay!

  7. My routine of getting ready for girls night out would consist of throwing on something and getting out the house as fast as I can before my toddler realizes what is happening. I definitely have to start early if I at least want to look put together lol!

  8. Looking confident and gorgeous! I love it! But, I'm so in need of a girls night out. I usually throw my braids in a bun or leave them down and skip on out the door. I'm not much of a girly girl but I guess I plan to work on that!
