Life Lately: Early Spring, Undercuts, and Decisions

Hey, everyone! How you doing? It's been a while since I checked in which my peeps so I thought I'd share a glimpse of my life.

Spring has Sprung in February?

We have been enjoying unseasonably warm temperatures since Friday and it has made for some beautiful weather here in Minnesnowta. Just look at the pictures that I took at the lake, which was packed full of runners, walkers, and bikers.

Today, I'm enjoying the last day of the winter heat wave because were supposed to get 5 to 8 inches of the cold stuff Friday. Whomp whomp whomp.

Loving All the Pixie Bobs & Undercuts

I don't know what it is, but the new year makes me want to cut my hair off again. I've been looking at edgy haircuts this time. Pixie Bobs, basically an acemetrical haircut or side shaved off, or an undercut. When I saw Taraji P. Henson's new hairstyle, I just about freaked because that's what I'm looking for. The only problem with an undercut haircut is that awkward grow-back stage. Either way, I'm cutting something soon.

Decisions, Decisions

Sigh... for the past year I've been going back and forth about what to do. See, I've been juggling between two blogs. This one - Stacie Raye, and Minnesota Noir, a blog about African American life in the Twin Cities. Both I love, but I can't seem to manage. If I work on one, the other will suffer and vice versa. I really want to cover both topics on one blog because that would make my life easier. And easier is good. Stay tuned to see what I end up doing.

Anywho, that's what's up with Stacie. What's new with you?

  1. It's been pouring rain here! But, just woke up to sunshine but, I see clouds rolling in. Glad you made it to the lake. Oh, the two blog issue. I do know about this. I have one sitting untouched as I just started to focus on one. Can't wait to see what you end up doing. I know merging will make your blog life easier though. Happy almost spring. PS. Looking forward to see your haircut.

  4. I can't wait to see what you decide about both of your blogs! I have time almost to manage, write, and promote just one. Also, I simply adore short hair cuts so I am so here for that change too!

  5. We are enjoying summer temps this winter in the D.C. area as well. Today is supposed to hit 74.

I'm a serial cutter so I keep half of my head shaved at all times. I love the cut in the picture. I'm also living Taraji's new cut. I'm a naturally edgy kind of girl.

  13. That is a cute haircut. I kept the sides and back of my hair shaved off for over a year and now I'm going through the awkward grow back stage. It's starting to get better now that I can twist the sides and most of the back.
Hopefully, you can figure out a way to combine your blogs since it sounds like you love both topics.

  16. I have always wanted to visit the Twin Cities...and live there! I think that area is so fantastic. I think you should merge the two blogs. That could be an efficient way to go.

  17. Our weather is crazy here too. We have been in the 80s all week. I can't believe I have to have the AC on in February. The cuts do look cute though, I can't wait to see which one you decide on.

  18. Weather has been up and down here, but mostly warm. I have two blogs as well and let one of them sit for over a year with no action, however, it still earns me money with the little traffic I do receive. I link the two blogs together without merging.

That haircut is super cute, but can be a mess when growing out. Well, that's what weaves and wigs are for when you decide to grow it out.
