AMLA Legend Relaxer: Update on All the Drama

If you read my AMLA Legend relaxer review a few years back, you know how it burned my scalp. But did you know that L'Oreal was slapped with a lawsuit because of it? Sounds like several women across the country have experience burning when they used the AMLA Legend relaxer from Softsheen Carson. Not only did the relaxer burn, but some lost their hair and experienced balding.

AMLA Legend No Mix Cream Relaxer promised a faster relaxing processing time with results in 13 to 15 minutes instead of the normal 18 to 20 minutes that is required to chemical process your hair.

What drew me to this product was the fact that it was a no mix relaxer base meaning it was easier to apply. Besides the fact that it smelled absolutely amazing since there was no strong smell from the relaxer. But as many other women have experienced, it burned immediately. I even had a small bald patch in the front of my head. I would never recommend the AMLA Legend relaxer to anyone!

I am however a fan of the AMLA Legend shampoo and conditioners, as well as AMLA Legend moisturizer and hair oils. I just think they really miss the mark when it came to this bad relaxer.

Sadly, what I am seeing all over the internet is people commenting on the fact that it's a relaxer, of course it's supposed to burn. Yes, that's partially true. If you leave your relaxer on too long it can and will burn your scalp.

But gone are the days of bone straight relaxed hair. Many women who relax their hair like myself, are only looking to texlax or at least use the relaxer in the way it was recommended. Speaking from experience, this product burned more than a normal relaxer.

It would be foolish to say, "That's what you get for using a relaxer". A relaxer is supposed to straighten hair not make women bald!
