There's been a lot of talk about uniforms lately and I'm not talking about what you wear when you work at Wendy's. A uniform is basically your go-to, daily outfit.
My everyday look used to consist of jogging or track suits with tennis shoes. Large t-shirts and yoga pants were my best friend. Hey don't judge me. I'm sure you've done it too.
After returning from the Kohl's Style for Every Body trip, I felt like I had more tools to help me put looks together and the confidence to pull them off.
But reality set in real fast. I'm a mom and the majority of my time is spent cleaning, cooking, and running errands. Can I get an amen! As I think about it, I know I've gone shopping and got the snub because of the way I was dressed. Now, I could care less about what someone else thinks, but I know I didn't feel and look my best.
So I decided to create an everyday uniform for myself - an easy fall outfit that's comfortable yet stylish.
Leggings - Yes, they are pants. I don't care what they say.
Short or Long Sleeved T-shirt - Target has basic tees that go on sale often.
Poncho or Sweater - These will never go out of style!
Booties or Knee High Boots - Again, every wardrobe should have at least one pair.
Scarf - this is the easiest way to add a finishing touch to any outfit.
Now listen, I'm not a stylist nor do I claim to be. This is just what works for me. It makes me feel better about myself and honestly that's all that matters. Every mom wants to feel and look pretty and if I can help someone achieve that, mission accomplished!
Do you have a "uniform" that you wear? What does it consist of?
Oh you wrote this post for me!!! My uniform is jeans and a cute top! Your look is so pulled together!

Very nice uniform..love the plum leggings..very very fall looking :-). My uniform is usually tee-shirt and shorts in the summer and jeans and sweater for winter.
ReplyDeleteLooking great lady. I'm determined to get one of those big scarves for this season. Love it. And yes to flat boots!
ReplyDeleteNice idea. I work from home and to be honest, unless I'm doing a Skype session with a client, I'm just in an oversized tee. But I know that dressing the part does boost you in many ways so perhaps I should put some effort into coming up with a uniform.
ReplyDeleteI feel you. Leggings are definitely a part of my daily uniform. I need a few extra pairs as we speak.
ReplyDeleteCute! I didn't realize I wore a uniform as well until this, but if it's not broke don't fix it. ;-) I love jeans, t-shirts (I just bought 2 from Target today), and ballet flats or flat boots.
ReplyDeleteI work everyday and I wish we had a standard uniform. I get tired of trying to find something everyday to wear. I've always said I could walk around with some yoga pants and t-shirt, a comfy feeling.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! Loving the fall colors!
ReplyDeleteMy go to uniform includes jeans and a t-shirt with a heel or Converse. A blazer or a sweater depending on the time of the year.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely look Fall chic. I love the poncho so much!
ReplyDeleteYou know that I have always loved this look on you, and the black shawl is a closet staple. #ProductReviewParty
ReplyDeleteYou look great. Very chic and comfortable. I really like your cape.
ReplyDeleteI think I decided that my uniform this fall/winter is going to be all athleisure. If anything constricts, it's not going on my body. Nope! LOL
ReplyDeleteI guess my uniform would be jeans and a comfortable tee. I don't like wearing boots, I try to wear sneakers as long as I can!
ReplyDeleteStacie, I know I've done it and still do it hon, especially this time of year! lol
ReplyDeleteLovin this outfit, it's easy and stylish too!
You look great! I love the boots and the leggings. I'll get it together for fall... watch me... LOL!
ReplyDeleteYep, your style is basically my uniform style too! Comfortable, yet still looking cute!
