*Fix light, in-season meals for you and your family. Head to your local farmers market. Fresh fruits and vegetables are in abundance this time of year. Take advantage of it.
*Go outside! Don't limit exercise to the indoors. Instead, go for a walk, play at the park with your kids, head to the pool for some swimming and splashing around. The bottom line is to get moving this summer. You'll feel much better and your kids will enjoy family time.
*Protect your body. Drink plenty of water so you don't get dehydrated and be sure to apply sunscreen. Remember, black women need sunscreen too!

*Wear clothes and accessories that make you feel pretty. Light, flowy blouses and dresses are always so flattering during the summer. Feel good about yourself no matter what size you are. Don't wear ill fitted clothing. During summer, we show more of our bodies than ever. Be sure that your clothing fits so you look your best.
*Don't stop your beauty regimen just because it's hot outside. A simple swipe of waterproof mascara and a juicy lip balm or lip gloss will complement your fresh dewy face.

Hi Stacie, Good reminders. It's starting to heat up out here. I need to get out for walks earlier, before it heats up. Or after it cools down. Hope you had a great Memorial Weekend. Ours was low key, finals this week for the kiddo.

ReplyDeleteIt is super tough to have a makeup routine when it is super warm out! Luckily, I have a nice sun kissed tan. Therefore, I am good with just some makeup and blush to refresh my look.
ReplyDeleteI slather in sunscreen before going outside. I have bug spray, sun hat, etc when doing outdoors events. I stay prepared.
