US Family Guide. I had always wanted to go, ever since my kids were young but just never got the chance.
When I was younger, I remember seeing commercials that the Globetrotters we're coming to town and I always wanted to go. Well this year, would be our first opportunity to see them in all of their the Globetrotter glory. We headed to the Target Center and couldn't wait to be a part of the fun.
Initially when we arrived, our tickets would not work. It turns out, that the tickets we received were for the next night because of a mix-up. The ticket box office graciously accommodated us and gave us tickets for that night's show. Our seats ended up being about further back, but they were still very good ones. Just two rows from the floor. The seats we should have got would have been almost court side, but I'm glad they weren't. You'll see why soon.
We were ready for some globetrotter entertainment. Let the show begin!
Making fun of the Ref.
This guy was the star of the show!
Harlem Globetrotter shenanigans.
I had no idea there was a female Harlem Globetrotter! She was good too!
Globetrotter side show. I don't know why, but these things are so funny to me!
Harlem Globetrotter Handles shaking up Twin Cities Live host Steve Patterson. Ooh!
Remember those seats I told you about? Well, this would have been us ducking for cover.
The Lord knows and was looking out!
My favorite part of the evening was when Handles picked out a guy from the audience and starting dancing with him to Adele's Hello.
Hilarious!
We definitely enjoyed ourselves and I wish we hadn't have waited so long to see them. Next year, I'll take the girls!
Have you seen the Harlem Globetrotters before?
The Harlem Globetrotters are so much fun. I've seen them several times and it was always a great time. I can't wait for my kids to get older so I can take them. The female trotter is the BOMB!
ReplyDeleteIsn't she though? We had such a good time.
DeleteI remember going to see them when I was little! My children haven't been. I wonder what they would think. I watched a documentary on them, and I would love to share their history with the kids before we go. Looks like it is still as much fun as I remember :)
ReplyDeleteYou should do a video of this. I bet that would be cool to watch!
DeleteHow fun! I saw them when I was an itty bitty kid living in NYC. I remember being very engaged. Glad you all got to go.
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun! I'd love to take my gbaby next time.
DeleteWhen I was a kid my dad watched them on tv religiously. They were his favorite so I would watch with him. I haven't been able to watch them since he passed, but s just thinking recently that I would really like to take the children so they can experience something their grandfather enjoyed before they were born. I'm really not this person, but I prefer them being all male. I'm sure the female is good, but I'd like the original vibe. I'm glad you guys stayed dry. Lol! So cool of a family event.
ReplyDeleteI get it. I think having a female was a nice message, but the whole crew wasn't as good as the originals. At least that's what my hubby said. lol
DeleteI hope you get the chance to take you kids. It would be a really special time. :)
DeleteWow! It seems that you had an incredible time. What a great group of performers and what a testament to the longevity of this team.
ReplyDeleteI know! It was cool to cross this off my things to do list.
DeleteThis looks like so much fun, I remember seeing them in school. I've not seen them in a really long time. My kids would totally enjoy the show.
ReplyDeleteYou should go next time they're in town!
DeleteOh this is way cool and great photos! They have been around for such a long time and bring back fond childhood memories!
ReplyDeleteI missed this when I was young so I'm glad we can do this for our kids.
DeleteThis looks like so much fun! I'm from NYC but I haven't even see half the things there are to see here. I definitely need to look into it!
ReplyDeleteAw, you should plan to take a visit for sure.
DeleteThis looks like so much fun! I had no idea they still existed! Very cool and I'm so glad you didn't have to duck for cover!
ReplyDeleteThat would have been bad. So bad!
DeleteI bet this was super fun!! I bet this was extremely entertaining I would love to see this in person!
ReplyDeleteIt was Kiwi! Definitely go.
DeleteI've never seen the Harlem Globetrotters before but I remember the commercials and chatter about going as a little girl. I'm cracking up over the seats. We were in the 2nd row at the Universoul Circus... too close to elephants and zebras for comfort, lol.
ReplyDeleteOoh, yeah that sounds too close. lol You haven't seen it either? Take your babies when they're in town!
DeleteI didn't know there were female Globe trotters! I've been wanting to take my nephews. Hopefully we can go next time they're in town.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that either. I hope you get the chance to go.
DeleteEvery year that they come to Delaware I make plans in my mind to go, however, have never yet. Their games are so entertaining, glad you had a chance to see them live and in person - perhaps it will be me next year! #ProductReviewParty
ReplyDeleteI never seen the Harlem Globetrotters, unsure if my girls would want to go, but I would like to see them. Seems like their games are very entertaining. Glad you wasn't up front and got wet, I would've been mad if that was me getting wet. #ProductReviewParty
