I continued the tradition when I became a mom too. I'd always buy the cutest dresses and little suits for my kids. My daughter never really liked her dresses. They were frilly and fluffy, but she would never want wear them again. Not even to church.
I had an epiphany.
I was spending all this money on Easter clothes that my kids didn't like. From that day on, I decided we would only wear casual clothes on Easter, or at least something we could get more use out of.
To make it more fun, every year we color coordinate our Easter outfits. This year we rocked pink and blue. I wish I hadn't chosen those colors because we had the hardest time finding clothes that matched. But I think we did alright.
What I love most about this look is that I will get plenty of wear out of both items. I got this entire outfit (necklace included) from Forever 21 for about $40. Now that's a good deal! Here's a
coupon code if you want to snag a good deal for yourself!
Do you dress up for Easter or do you dress more casually like we do?
I love that idea Stacie! You guys rocked it. Seriously, gone are the days of over the top fancy Easter dressing that you'd never wear again. I agree. Hope your Easter was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your casual Easter look and I am a big fan of nudes, blushes and other neutral colors. Cute outfit!
ReplyDeleteMy mom still dresses my daughter up for Easter and she has a speech but I no longer dress up myself. I find something I already have but I like the idea of the soft colors
ReplyDeleteI had the pastel ruffle dresses, patent leather shoes, purse, and hat! I believe in 2nd grade, I wore my Easter dress not only on Easter, school picture day, then for family pictures during the following summer. I think that was the last year of me dressing "the most" for Easter. I didn't care for dresses either.
ReplyDeleteI love y'alls matching outfits. You have such a beautiful family!
I'm a big fan of colour co-coordinating the family. Sadly my kids give me grief every step of the way lol I would love it if you would stop by my blog and add this post to my weekly fashion blogger link up. I think my readers would really like your style!

Listen Stacie! I am totally here for your Easter outfit. I love it. You and your family look great. Comfortable, stylish and cute. That's the way to do it.
ReplyDeleteI went for a more causal Easter look this year too and I loved it. I know I'll wear all the items again. You look great.

We do not dress up for easter either. I remember all the fuss as a child and I did not like it. However next year we will be coordinating our colors.
ReplyDeleteI loved comfy, but trendy looking outfits. I hate being uncomfortable for church or any other outings. Loving all of your outfits.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit. This is a great idea! You are so right why spend a lot of money on outfits that we are not going to wear again. Let's all pledge to wear cute, comfortable and multi-wear outfits for special events and holidays.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I'm all about saving money and everyone looks happy and comfy.
ReplyDeleteI love this, I have a lot of memories of big frilly dresses and itchy tights and burnt smelling hair. I do a dressed down version of Easter these days especially if we aren't going to church. If we are I go for outfits we can wear again.
ReplyDeleteLove your eater outfit! I love the idea of going casual on Easter! I hate being so uncomfortable at church and I know the kids do too!
ReplyDeleteI love this post. I used to do Easter for the production the fashion show and the photo ops. Honestly people need to stop doing that because if you arent going to dress up every Sunday so lavishly or even attend church then dont do it at all. I love the comfy look I am sure you still got the message just the same :)
ReplyDeleteI shopped my own closet for Easter and wore something I already had. Same thing for our son. He could still fit his button downs from last year.
ReplyDeleteYour family was beautifully coordinated for Easter. I love the idea.
