I am a simple girl. I don't need diamond rings or fancy purses for Christmas. To me, it's all about giving not getting. For many years, I was only concerned about being a blessing to my kids and hubby. I never really asked for anything for myself other than a stocking-stuffer or two.

Now that my kids are grown and have jobs of their own, it's nice to be on the receiving end for once. My gift of choice? Gift cards of course!
Gift cards are so practical and easy to use. Of course I can't forget my AT&T Refill and Go card. My family knows I've been enjoying my ASUS ZenFone 2E, so it just makes sense for me to get a AT&T refill card as a gift. There's no contract so when it's time to renew my monthly plan I just refill and go. Easy peasy! It's one thing I know I will get a lot of use out of.
Other gifts I received were items that well, I bought for myself. Hey, when you find something you like, you might as well buy it. I just end up throwing and it under the tree and thanking my husband later.
I saw this Give Me Some Sugar Mug on Instagram and thought it was so cute. When I was out shopping at a boutique, it was sitting up on the shelf waiting just for me. Isn't she darling?
I am so hard on slippers. We call them house shoes around here. Every year, I end up needing a pair because they end up literally falling apart. I found these cozy slippers and I know they'll last...well, at least until next Christmas.
So that's it. Good, practical gifts that I know I will use and won't have to take back to the store!

I love that mug! I would say that's a great practical gift. It's nice to be able to receive from the kids and it looks like they did well.

DeleteI got a few gift cards and I used them to buy gifts for others, not myself. But it's a cost-efficient way to cover expenses.

ReplyDeleteI love gift cards too. I received a couple and gave out a few as well. I prefer to give gift cards because it makes it so the person can get something that they actually want.

ReplyDeleteThe mug is super cute. I actually didn't get giftcards this year. I ask for them every year but my loved ones like to give more personal gifts. I really needed new equipment for my camera so I wanted gift cards from the same store that way I could put them all together toward a more expensive purchase and I would pay the difference. Of course I appreciate the thoughtfulness of any gift.
