School.  Just the word makes my kid shudder. It begins in just two weeks, and while I have had great Summer, I look forward to getting back to a regular routine.

But once school starts, so do the demands on my schedule. As the official Mom taxi driver, I take folks to school and work and pick them up again. Don't even mention any after school activities, let alone sports practices. It's enough to make the most sane mom want to pull out her hair!

But not this mom. I'm not sweating it one bit. Why? Because your girl knows how to work it out! Take dinner for instance, I'm all about cooking up something that's tasty, yet easy to fix. Preparing effortless meals makes back to school time less hectic and allows more time for me to spend with my family.

Let me show you how this gal makes effortless meals for my busy family!

What you will need:

Rotisserie Chicken
BBQ Sauce
Hawaiian Rolls
Marketside sides like potato or macaroni salad
Sprite
Fresh fruit

1. Head to Walmart and pick up a fully cooked rotisserie chicken which is perfect for busy moms and dads.

It's really easy to find. Just look for the Effortless meal signage at Walmart. You can also find other Effortless Meals including Deli sandwiches and Marketside pizzas.

2. Take your chicken out of the package and pull the chicken off of the bone and shred with your hands or a knife.

3. Add your favorite BBQ sauce to the chicken and cook until heated through.
4. Slice your Hawaiian Rolls in half .
5. Spoon BBQ chicken onto each Hawaiian roll.

6. Serve family style on a plate and let everyone have at it!

7. Don't forget your sides like Marketside Potato Salad and Sprite to make your effortless meal just right!

Tips for Creating Effortless Meals During the School Year

*Keep rice, beans, and sauces in your pantry for quick meal ideas.

*Pick up fully cooked or hot and ready meat like a rotisserie chicken or pizza. Serve with fresh fruit and a salad.

*Have a weekly meal plan and shop accordingly. That way you know what meals you're eating ahead of time

*Have your kids help with meal prep or setting the table. When dinner is finished, they can also help clean up.

  1. Great idea for making sliders from rotisserie chicken. I've used it here or there for a recipe when in a hurry or dinner in a pinch. But, this would be easy and yummy.
