Summertime can be so busy! We often are out and about enjoying the warm weather and we don't always get the "me time" that we need.
Now is the perfet time to start practicing self-care again and/or tackle those things that you've been putting off. Here is a list of ideas to do for yourself.
10 Things to Do for Yourself When the Kids go Back to School
1. Go somewhere and dance like no one is watching! You made it through the summer and you finally have the house to yourself again.
2. Take a relaxing bath. I don't know about you but I rarely carve out time to take a long bath since showering is quicker. Pour in some bath salts for aromatherapy.
3. Go get your hair or nails done. A new hairstyle can do wonders for your mood!
4. Take a solo walk around a lake or along the beach. Breathing in the fresh air is both calming and relaxing.
5. Treat yourself to something new. Even if it costs a dollar. Just make sure it's something affordable that won't break the bank and cause stress in the long run.
6. Take a "me" day during school hours. Do what you love to do, just be back in time to get the kids. If you're a working mom, take an extended lunch break or leave early to do whatever makes you feel good.
7. Schedule that much-needed doctor or dentist appointment. Get that mammogram or physical you've been putting off. Taking care of your health is the best way to practice self-care.
8. Meet a friend for coffee or lunch. This is a great time to catch up on life and get in a few good laughs too.
9. Clean the house. I know what you're thinking. How is cleaning practicing self-care? Oh, but it is girlfriend. A clean house helps you function better.
10. Do the one thing you have been putting off while the kids have been at home. Whatever it is, just do it.
What are you planning to do for yourself now that the kids are back to school?
Love this list. As soon as she went back I treated myself to a cut & color. We did our nails together at home after school one day. Giving a little pampering to her being back in school. I need to clean & freshen up my decor for fall. That is a big one on my list. ;)
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to do anything for myself yet. Well, I did paint my nails one day. :-) ... And I'm due a therapeutic massage. I better schedule that soon.
ReplyDeleteGirl yesterday was my son's first day back to school after finishing camp like 3 weeks ago. My little ones were in daycare so I took the day off just to get peace and quiet while it lasted.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Although the kids have gone back to school, things have gotten even more hectic! I'll have to make some time for some of these for sure!

ReplyDeletecute simple list. I dont have kids yet but when I do I would love to take a kid-free mini vacay before the kids go back...because I know many parents feel like when the kids go back to school their vacation time is over too...so do that!
