My grandmother loved to walk. She was a walking machine! When I was younger, I remember going on long walks in the neighborhood and being exhausted because I couldn't keep up with her.


Now that I am older, I enjoy walking just as much as she did. A quick jaunt around the lake not only rejuvenates my body but refreshes my mind. No doubt, I get this from my grandmother. 

On a beautiful Spring day, I rounded up my daughter and gbaby and headed to my mother's house for a day of enjoying the outdoors. 

My mother invited her best friend and we all sat around talking about the importance of taking care of our health by watching what we eat and portion control. 

Did you know that the average American use 22 teaspoons of added sugar every day? I can honestly say I'm guilty of this and need  to cut back on this bad habit.


That's where SPLENDA come in. You can use SPLENDA as an alternative that will reduce the amount of calories you're taking in. I showed my guests how easy it is to use SPLENDA as way to cut back sugar in our every day recipes. In fact, SPLENDA has a recipe website called Sweet Swaps that is dedicated to providing simple recipes for a balanced lifestyle.



I showed my guests how to make refreshing Virgin Mojitos using SPLENDA, Mint, diet pop, and Lime Juice.
Adding a fresh squeeze of lime juice gives it an extra fruity kick.


Everyone loved the fresh mint in these tasty drinks.

Virgin Mojito Recipe

Servings Per Recipe: 1
Serving Size: 12 fl oz
INGREDIENTS
  • mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated
  • lime, juiced
  • 1 (12 fl oz) can diet lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 1 sprig Fresh mint for garnish
  • 1 slice Lime slices for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Smash mint leafs and SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated, with a spoon in the bottom of a large glass.
  2. Add lime juice and stir. Pour in soda and stir well.* Garnish with mint and lime slice. Serve chilled.

Time to get our exercise on! We headed outside for a peaceful stroll a long the creek.
