Summer is here and I my son is already saying he's bored. If you're like me, you want to find ways to keep kids entertained this Summer, without going broke in the process!
Here's a list of things you can do in the Twin Cities with your family, or by yourself, that won't cost you a dime!
1. First things first, go visit one of our many beautiful parks, lakes, or biking trails.
2. Head to Como Zoo and bring the kiddies. It's technically free, but you can help off set expenses by giving a donation of any size. While you'r there, stop at the Conservatory and snap some lovely pics!
3. Take in free music from the Minnesota Sinfonia. Go online to find out where their next free concert is.
4. Don't forget about your local library. You can watch new movie releases, take computer classes, and of course take out as many books as your heart desires. There's also a Summer reading program and cool classes for the kids to take as well.
5. Take tiny tots to Lego Land at the Mall of America. Play the day away!
6. The Walker Art Center has Target Free Thursday Nights from 5-9 and free first Saturdays.
7. ...And the Sculpture Garden across the street is always free!
8. Check out the Three Rivers Park District. Many events are free all year round.
9. The MN Orchestra also offers free concerts too.
10. Take your youngins to free story time at The Red Balloon or Wild Rumpus.
11. Minneapolis Institute of Arts is also free, but they have Target Family Day held one Sunday a month.
12. U of M's Weiman Art Museum has free days as well as the Bell Museum.
13. MN Air National Guard in St. Paul is free.
14. The Bakken Museum also has free second Saturdays every month.
Do you know of other free things to do in the Twin Cities? Please share and I'll add it to the list!
