7 Sistahs Helping Us Celebrate National Soul Food Month!

Hey guys, Happy June! Now, I know that June means summer is here and the grills will be sizzling but guess what else June represents? It's National Sooooul Fooooood month!- in my Soul Train voice.

I love me some good down home cooking so I wanted to feature ladies all over the internets that are whipping up that southern fare for National Soul Food month.

7 Sistahs Helping Us Celebrate National Soul Food Month

Let's start this out right by featuring one of my favorite soul food dishes, Soul Food Collard Greens from Diva's Can Cook. She shows us that you can cook up a mean meal and still be fly.

Crispy Oven Fried Chicken from Jehan Can Cook is something we all love to eat. Especially my guys. They could eat fried chicken ever day if I let them!

Sweet Savant shows up how to make The Best Crock Pot Mac and Cheese. Now that's what I'm talking about!

Southern Souffle shows us how to make southern candied yams in this Cane Syrup Roasted Sweet Potatoes. My boys would love this too!

This Skillet Buttery Cornbread from bsugarmama makes me want to go out and buy a cast iron skillet a.s.a.p. I have one, but it's not seasoned. I need to put that on my list of things to do.

Now you know I can't end without featuring a delicious dessert. And what dessert is a main stay in the black community? Peach Cobbler of course! Utokia of She's Got Flavor will show us the Best Layered Peach Cobbler Ever.

But wait, before you go I have to show these bad boys from Jem Of the South. Pecan Sandies anyone?

  3. I had no idea Soul food month was even a thing, but every single dish you listed looks amazing! If I had my choice and could only pick one I'd probably have to go with that peach cobbler...I'm a sucker for sweets!
